Description
Curled up under a log on a chilly morning. The head is not visible, but the body was thick and faintly banded. Highlands Copperheads and Red-bellied Black Snakes are the more usually encountered species around this montane bog at 860m elevation, but this snake was too large for a copperhead and certainly isn't a black snake (both of which we also saw on the day). Despite the poor view of it, I am pretty sure it is a Tiger Snake.
