Description
This lowland copperhead was caught just as it was in the process of a predation attempt. You can see I’ve included a photo of the dying banjo frog, which was right in frog of the snakes’ face as I caught the snake (as a snake catcher, I was removing it from a private property). This was right next to a small dam, and it seems obvious given the circumstances that the snake was actively foraging for food, poking its head into holes of the eroded dam bank, in which it found and bit this frog. The frog was probably seized and pulled out into the open where it was about to be consumed by the snake, before I unfortunately had to interrupt the process at the behest of the landowner.
