Eastern Brown Snake in Frogmore NSW 2586 (Aug 2022)

Not sure if Eastern Brown Snakes are territorial but the day before I almost laid straight on top of one that seemed to be the same/similar chunkiness as this. Less than a metre away from it was amazing/startling! It kind of jumped its whole body in the air and when it landed it made quite the satisfying thud! Also they must have good eyesight? Or, at least better than I thought. I was at 300mm zoom and could still fit the whole snake in the shot but as soon as I moved a little bit it stopped moving and was clearly looking at me? Does that darker line down the middle of its back mean it is juvenile?
